NEW Degree for International Students At UNE !!

Bachelor of Engineering Technology

The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is a new para-professional degree that provides a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills for work in many areas of modern technology. The course is offered in conjunction with the University of Southern Queensland. The Bachelor of Engineering Technology is a 3 year degree, designed to complement a professional engineering degree, and allows for articulations into a 4 year degree program.

Engineering Technology involves the application of knowledge and skills in scientific
and technological principles, management and social responsibility to:
- New and existing design technologies
- Testing and inspection of infrastructure
- Plant and facility operation and maintenance
- Manufacturing and production
- Supervision and Management of Infrastructure
- Teaching and Development work
- Sustainable development

Bachelor of Engineering Technology students can undertake a major in either Civil or Environmental. These majors have been introduced in response to demand by local councils, consultants and environmental agencies for Engineering Technologists. Students have the opportunity to include specialist units from the University of Southern Queensland on a cross-institutional basis.

Career Opportunities include:
Positions in local government working in water supply and sewerage; road and bridge design and construction; waste management and disposal; environmental control, planning and development; parks and gardens; with consultants working in design and project management of environmental, local government, agricultural, major transport infrastructure projects, etc.; in the mining industry in infrastructure development, environmental control and rehabilitation works.
